The Place Riel Steering Committee
A broad based committee of representatives from the University of Saskatchewan and the USSU oversees the renovation and expansion of Place Riel. Following is a list of the primary members. For further information contact Caroline Cottrell at caroline.cottrell@ussu.ca

Chris Stoicheff
USSU President
Chris' main role on the Committee is to help ensure that the student needs and wants are being met with the construction and aesthetics of the renovations. |

Scott Hitchings
USSU VP Operations and Finance
Currently the USSU VP for Operations & Finance, Scott presents a unique, student perspective to the Steering Committee. Scott has a particular interest in the financial and philosophical aspects of the renovation project. |

Caroline Cottrell
USSU General Manager
Caroline has been closely involved in all aspects of renewing Place Riel. She sits on the Design Team, the Steering Committee and has been very actively engaged in the working group dealing with the necessary financing and accounting. She also works very closely with the student stakeholders to ensure coordination of information flow. |

Freda Salikin
USSU Facilities and Operations Manager
One of four University of Saskatchewan Students’ Union representatives on the Place Riel Steering Committee, Freda has completed the Business Administration Certificate Program at the University of Saskatchewan, is a member of the International Facility Management Association and is currently serving as the liaison for the Saskatoon and area region to the Regina chapter of IFMA.

Richard Florizone
Vice President Finance and Resources
Richard has been with the University since 2005. He is the Executive Sponsor of the Project and, as such, is directly responsible to the University’s governing bodies for the overall Project. Together with the USSU President, he co-chairs regular meetings of the Project Steering Committee, which oversees Project progress and issues. |

Colin Tennant
Associate Vice President, Facilities Management Division
Associate Vice-President and University Architect, Facilities Management Division,
Colin has been with the University since 1998. His role is to ensure that all aspects of the construction project are appropriately coordinated. |

Bryan Bilokreli
Integrated Planning Office
Bryan has been with the University since 1977. His role is to provide input to the Place Riel Project about related current and pending Major Capital Projects, in order to facilitate coordination between these Projects and the alignment of Projects with the strategic directions of the University. He also coordinates the Project through the Major Project Governance Process on behalf of senior University administration. |

James Cook
Corporate Administration
James has been with the University since 2004. Corporate Administration administers the legal and contractual agreements between the University and the USSU. His role on the Project is to provide input based on his knowledge of these agreements and, conversely, to consider how decisions made on this Project affect current and future agreements. |

Piya Sen
Financial Services Division
Piya has been with the University since 2005. She acts as the Executive Sponsor’s day-to-day Delegate on this Project and is the primary contact point for issues that arise. Her role includes monitoring Project progress and issues from an University perspective, ensuring that the right people are involved at the right time for decisions that need to be made to advance the Project, and coordinating financial analyses that underlie the preparation of documents for approval by the University’s senior administration and Board of Governors. |

Greg Fowler
Consumer Services
Greg has been with the University since 2007 and has worked on campus with STM since 1994. In heading up a University division that provides food, retail, housing and other services to students, his role on the Project is to ensure that campus-wide service offerings and adjoining student areas are coordinated with service offerings in Place Riel.

Colin Hartl
Facilities Management Division
Colin has been with the University since 2003. He represents the University in the planning and development of the construction project. This includes monitoring the project from inception through to final completion of the project to ensure continuity. |

Doug Tremblay
Facilities Management Division
Doug has been with the University since 2001. He is deeply involved in the payment of invoices and accounting and reporting of construction costs for University projects. His role is to ensure that existing accounting and reporting mechanisms are tailored to the unique needs of this joint University/USSU project. |

Ron Cruikshank
Facilities Management Division
Ron has been with the University since 2006. He represents the University in providing oversight with respect to the successful delivery of the construction project. This includes working closely with the project manager and planner, as well as the design and construction teams, to ensure that the University’s design and engineering standards are maintained and that the construction project is delivered on scope, on schedule and on budget. |

Sue Verhille-Long
Financial Services Division
Sue has been with the University since 2007. She works closely with Piya (Executive Sponsor’s Delegate), other University representatives and USSU representatives to coordinate the objectives, activities and progress of the various Working Groups that perform detailed analyses for different aspects of the Project (e.g. Financing, Cash Flows, Capital Cost Allocation). |

Colleen MacDonald
Manager, Project Governance and Administration (Facilities Management Division)
Colleen has been with the University since 2002. Her role is to maintain detailed records of Steering Committee and Working Group discussions over the course of the Project and to assist with preparation of Project documents for approval by the University’s senior administration and Board of Governors. She also works with the Integrated Planning Office to coordinate the Project through the Major Project Governance process. |
