Renewing Place Riel: The Architect


In the autumn of 2007, Saunders Evans Plosker Wotherspoon Architects Inc. were chosen as the architectural firm charged with responsibility to oversee the design of the renovated Place Riel Centre. With offices located in Saskatoon and Regina, Saunders Evans Plosker Wotherspoon Architects Inc. has provided some services to a number of Canadian and international-based clientele, including some from the United States, Asia and the Caribbean region.

Place Riel Renovation Chief Architect

Brian R. J. Saunders is the Chief Architect for the Place Riel renovation project.  Brian completed his architectural studies at the Oxford School of Architecture, Oxford Brookes University in 1971. In 1973 he became a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects and the Architects Registration Board of the U.K. In 1977 he registered with the Saskatchewan Association of Architects and the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, of which he was elected Fellow in 1995. He is a member of the Alberta Association of Architects. In 1992/93, he served as President of S.A.A.  Brian enjoys his active career in Architecture and having completed a number of different projects and studies in the U.K., Bermuda, China and Western Canada, has broad experience in every facet of the profession, with a special interest in design, design development, and in working with people promoting team approaches.
