Alternate Route Maps

Due to Place Riel renovation and construction activities, a number of detours have been created to help persons make their way around the University of Saskatchewan Campus. Please review the detours listed below and attached maps relating to the route alterations.

Indoor / Outdoor Detour Routes

Construction and renovation activities have resulted in a number of area closures in and nearby the Place Riel Student Centre. As a result of these closures, detours have been implemented. These detours include:

- Place Riel north exit closure - those wanting to reach the Campus Bowl are recommended to detour through the north exit doors of Marquis Hall (see map below, or click here to see an expanded map).
- Inlay area closure (north of Place Riel). This area was often used as an outdoor access point to frequently visited areas including the Murray Building, Marquis Hall and the Campus Bowl. Those wishing to reach the bowl are advised to detour indoors through Marquis Hall, while those wanting to reach the Murray Building are advised to access the building from its west-facing doors (see map below, or click here to see an expanded map).
- Breezeway closure - this outdoor path was often used to access the inlay area without having to travel through Place Riel. Those who frequently used the breezeway are now advised to either travel inside through Place Riel, detouring through Marquis Hall, or access affected buildings like the Murray Building from its west-facing doors (see map below, or click here to see an expanded map).




Campus Bowl Detour

The western third of the Campus Bowl has been gated to hold construction equipment and materials. Only authorized personnel will be allowed access to this area until the project is complete. The paved patch that circles the bowl will remain open (please see map below - click on the map for a larger view).





Place Riel North Exit / Inlay Detour

The north entry/exit doors to Upper Place Riel are now closed. Those traveling north towards the Campus Bowl are advised to detour through Marquis Hall, while those traveling south towards the Main Bus Mall are advised to detour through Marquis Hall towards Upper Place (please see map below - click on the map for a larger view).




Relocation of USSU Centres / Tenants

In order to accommodate for renovations to Lower Place Riel, the USSU Main Office has relocated to the Main Floor of the Memorial Union Building. Therefore, some of the USSU Centres have also relocated - to Lower Sask Hall. As of April 15, 2009, two tenants from Lower Place Riel will also be relocating to Lower Sask Hall - Travel Cuts, and Student Care.
